Description
Introduction: The Centaurium umbellatum Gilib. is an healing plant for a sick stomach. It works primarily to prevent fermentation and stimulates the stomach function, intestines and salivary glands. It also works in case of insufficient secretion of sodium acid. It’s application improves the function of the stomach and intestines.1
Material and Method: In this work was used a sample of commercially available tea, that is, herb of Centaurium umbellatum Gilib. produced in Gadžin Han, Serbia by company EKOLIFE M.D. Plus. It was prepared in a microwave digestion device, and the qualitative and quantitative determination of microelements was performed using the ICP-OES method.2
Results and Conclusion: The content of all the 12 microelements determined is given in descending order [mg/kg]: К (7862), Cа (2298), Мg (1835), Na (1638),Fe (303), Al (249), Si (131), Zn (32.4), Mn (29), Ba (20.4), Cu (8.3) and Ni (6.11). Elements such as: As, Be, Cd, Co, Cr and Pb were not detected in the tested sample.
