Description

The automotive industry has made a huge contribution to the global economy. Automotive companies constantly look for ways to optimize processes and reduce costs to remain competitive in the global market. Lean Six Sigma is a methodology that combines Lean principles focused on eliminating waste and Six Sigma as an approach that seeks to reduce variations and errors in the production process. By combining these two methodologies, companies can improve the quality of their products and represent a leading force in the market. This work aims to investigate the achieved level of implementation of Lean Six Sigma in the automotive industry in our country. For this purpose, a survey questionnaire was conducted to analyse the way of planning, organizing, and managing production and administration in companies. The results obtained from the survey are the basis on which to analyse, compare, and suggest suggestions for improvement in organizations. For this reason, the research was extended to two foreign companies, a company as a direct supplier to the automotive industry and a company as a manufacturer of complete cars. Such a comparison represents a direction for improvement of the companies in the area where they expressed dissatisfaction and at the same time highlights their strengths.
