Description
Measuring points of air pollution pollution by stones are chosen in locations where there is the greatest risk of exceeding the limit values. The places proposed for monitoring are the open-pit mine and the zone of the nearest rural housing facilities. The measuring point should be sufficiently large, easily accessible and equipped so that the measurement can be carried out in the prescribed manner and without danger to the measuring operator.
The measurement procedure included the following operations: Location survey; Installation of sedimentators; GPS location measurement; Sampling in a given period of time; Transport of samples to the laboratory; - Preparation of chemical analyses
The measuring device used for air quality testing in the quarry "Draževići" is an analytical balance METLLER TOLEDO measuring range from 0 to 220 g. The values of total sedimentary substances (mg/m ²/day) were measured in the period from 17.11.2020 to 17.12.2020, 21.06.2022 - 21.07.2022 and 11.07.-10.08.2024. 3 different places near the quarry.
In the observed period in the quarry "Draževići" the maximum permissible concentrations (MDK) for total sedimentary substances were not exceeded. The introduction of automatic water spraying systems (sprinklers) on conveyors and crushers significantly reduces the concentration of dust in the air. The use of binders (chemical agents) that stabilize the soil surface and prevent dust from rising is also one of the methods that is increasingly used in modern quarries.
